One person died in a plane crash in a remote mountainous area just south of Crown King on Sunday.
Dwight D'Evelyn, spokesman for the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, said the small plane was reported missing Sunday.
Fire crews who contained a one-acre wildfire the crash caused found the plane wreckage.
Firefighters hadn't known a plane was missing, said Arizona Bureau of Land Management Spokesman Ken Shaver.
The single-engine plane left Sunday from St. Johns and was supposed to arrive in Aguila that same day. When the plane didn't show up, relatives notified authorities.
The plane belongs to a company in Aguila, a town west of Wickenburg, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
Officials didn't releae the name of the victim, said FAA spokesman Ian Gregor.
National Transportation Safety Board officials will handle the investigation, Shaver said.
