The long anticipated Make A Difference Day is over and was a big success, residents said.
About 18 people in Spring Valley picked up 25 bags of litter from their streets.
Eleven girls from the Spring Ridge Academy painted over the graffiti under the Big Bug Bridge by the old fire station in Spring Valley. They managed to get most of the paint on the graffiti and just a little on themselves!
The Mayer Jr./Sr. High School collected food for the St. Vincent de Paul-sponsored Food Pantry in Cordes.
The Mayer elders Club had five calls from elders who needed help with a variety of chores. Between Fire Chief Glenn Brown, Larry Canaday, Ken Hill and Tony DeSomber, four of the requests - two in Spring Valley and two in Mayer - have been taken care of. The fifth one should be finished in the near future.
Cordes Lakes had a great turnout of volunteers to work on their ballfield.
The Spring Valley Property Owners Association, the Cordes Lakes Community Association and the Mayer Elders Club would like to thank everyone who took part in this effort to make a difference in these three communities.
