Black Canyon City residents and visitors came out by the hundreds this past Saturday to enjoy the community's annual Fun Fest and Veteran's Day parade.
While the event usually includes fireworks, the fire department had to call them off this year because of dangerous dry weather, but that didn't stop the town from enjoying all of the other events, including a big car show, rock show, food, vendors, music and more.
Community volunteer Bob Cothern said the event was a big success. "I didn't hear one bad word," he said. "It will be bigger and better next year."
Cothern said car show enthusiasts told him they planned to return next year with more cars to display.
