Yavapai County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a Cordes Lakes man on Dec. 6, after he allegedly wounded his girlfriend during a family fight.
Family members told deputies that Mark Hannah, 50, had threatened to shoot himself during an argument with his girlfriend, and she tried to take the weapon away from him. When she grabbed the gun, witnesses said, it went off, and a bullet struck her in the hand.
A news release from the Sheriff's Dept. said family members told deputies that Hannah's girlfriend was upset about his alcohol use and tried to keep him from leaving the home. He then pulled the gun and pointed it at his head, threatening ot harm himself.
After the girlfriend was injured, a male in the house wrestled the gun from Hannah before Hannah left the home. Two young children were also at home at the time.
Emergency personnel airlifted the girlfriend to a Phoenix hospital. Her condition was unknown as of Monday.
Deputies booked Hannah into Yavapai County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon, seven counts of Endangerment, and Reckless Handling of a Weapon.
