1/20/2010 9:04:00 AM Spring Valley Association seeks new members
The Spring Valley Property Owners Association is conducting its annual drive for members.
The Association organizes the annual town clean-up when county facilities are available for free disposal. Association members clean up the litter from the entrance of Spring Lane to Bob White, and pay for weed control of the same area.
The Association pays the APS bill for the light at the entrance to Spring Lane, replaces the bulbs and pays for any other maintenance required. Members schedule speakers to talk about relevant issues at monthly meetings, distribute a monthly newsletter to all members, host an annual free picnic for all Spring Valley residents, provide a community resource folder, and sponsor the Christmas Lighting contest
Additionally, Association members co-sponsored the Oct. 24 National Make-A-Difference Day with Cordes Lakes and Mayer to help neighbors in need. They hand delivered notices to every resident in Spring Valley about a Town Hall Meeting to clarify the community's part in the violations given out by the county, held their Third Annual Yard and Bake Sale, donated to Yavapai Hospice and renewed membership in the Highway 69 chamber. This New Year will see the organization of a Neighborhood Watch Program and much more.
The Association encourages all residents of Spring Valley to take part in this organization. It meets on the second Tuesday of every month from September through June at the Spring Valley Community Church Annex. Potluck is at 6 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7.
Annual dues are $15 per person for property owners. Renters are welcome to join for an annual fee of $7.50. Although renters would not have a vote, they can voice their concerns, present their ideas and help in planning and carrying out community events.
The speaker for the February 9 meeting will be Pam Pearsol from the County Assessors Office.
