Personal growth, health classes offered through Women to Women Resource Center

New to the Ranchtown Plaza in Mayer is the Women to Women Resource Center, which will offer personal growth and health classes and presentations, and information on abusive relationships.

Myers, who said she once was in an abusive relationship and feared for her life, developed Women to Women after speaking with people in the community and doing research.

"A person does not have to live life in an abusive relationship, they can get out. There is help and hope," she said. "If I can help another person out, that is good."

The Center posts contact numbers on the front window for crisis/emergency help. Myers also offers classes in Anger and Conflict Management, CPR and First-Aid certifications, and free presentations on a variety of personal growth and family relationship topics.

Upcoming presentations include Healthy Relationships and Wellness, which takes place from 1-1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, with presenter Kathryn Chapman, director of Yavapai Family Advocacy Center.

How to Prepare Healthy Meals on a Low Budget takes place from 1-1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, with presenter Nita Marlette, RD, nutrition programs manager and WIC director, with free sampling.

Breast Cancer Awareness Day takes place from 1-1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15 with presenter Nancy LeDoyen, Breast Cancer Center, Yavapai Regional Medical Center. Information on Well Woman Health exam, a no charge program.
