The Mayer High boys' basketball team concluded its 2012-13 season winless after this loss Tuesday night in Glendale.

Dillon Darges, who registered 11 points and 7 rebounds, and Nate McElroy, who notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards, led the Wildcats offensively.

Longtime Mayer coach Roland Medina, whose program has won only one game in the past two campaigns, said it's time for his team to "bury this season and think about the future." The Wildcats compiled a Division IV-worst 0-18 record in power point contests this winter.

However, all of the players on Medina's current roster will return for 2013-14. The coach said they will compete in summer basketball in Phoenix over the off-season to work toward improving.

"Even though the numbers were not in our favor, this group of kids who will be coming back have learned a lot this season," Medina said. "Hopefully we'll be able to show that next season."
