The phrase "It's a small world" couldn't be truer for Cindy Jedlicki and Debby Poirier of Black Canyon City.
Jedlicki and Poirier recently opened Pleasantries Hand Made Treasures in the Harmil Plaza in BCC. However, when they met in Black Canyon City they discovered that not only were they both from Minnesota, but had lived only 10 minutes apart and their children had attended the same school.
They first opened Pleasantries in October of 2009 near Kid Chilleen's Restaurant in BCC, but moved in late December to the new location at Harmil Plaza.
The gift shop has handmade consignment items including photography, stained glass, embroidery, candles, soaps, jewelry and much more.
"We have affordable levels of quality items for everyone," Poirier said.
"We encourage local residents to bring handmade gift items to our shop," Jedlicki added.
The cost of the consignment is 20 percent and the shop is open Moday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
